This is a burden on the mitochondria and causes them to produce more free radicals. This will damage your cells.

It is the same when for example a production plant needs to produce more than it is capable of. The product comes with less quality, more byproducts/waste will pile up and the people and equipment will get overworked.

A consistent yoga practice will help your mitochondria stay healthier by integrating postures (asanas), breathwork (pranayama), and meditation (dhyana).

Breathing: Conscious breathing directly influences the autonomic nervous system whichs reduce stress and optimize oxygen utilization.
Asanas (Physical Postures): Gentle, consistent movement promotes cellular vitality without overtaxing the body by improving bloodflow and fascia health.
Meditation & Dhyana: Consistent mindfulness practices help regulate circadian rhythms and decrease systemic oxidative stress markers.

This combination will reduces oxidative stress, and will optimize energy production (ATP), and decreases inflammation.

Mitochondria and weight loss

The mitochondria play a pivotal role in how your body manages energy, burns fat, and maintains a healthy weight.
